About Us | PHYSICAL THERAPISTS are members of a health team that work to restore a patient's physical activity following an accident, injury or illness. Therapists help patients overcome disabilities through therapeutic exercise, massage and applications of heat, cold, water, and light. Therapists work closely with patient’s physician. Principal duties of Physical Therapists include: - Reviewing and evaluating patients' specific needs.
- Developing programs for treatment plans in keeping with the doctor's directions.
- Helping patients attain maximum muscle strength and motor skills as well as accepting and adjusting to the limiting effects of their condition.
- Planning and executing exercises for increasing strength, endurance, coordination, and range of motion.
- Introducing stimuli to facilitate motor activity and learning.
- Administering traction, massage, and other treatments such as moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines to improve patient's comfort and aid in recovery.
- Motivating and instructing patients, families, and other caregivers to help patients through the treatment period.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of treatment.

 Timothy Mc Cauley has worked extensively in the field of orthopedic and sports rehabilitation as a physical therapist. He is the director of Advanced Sports Medicine & Orthopedic PT, a multi-disciplinary center that focuses on: the restoration of function, rehabilitation following injury or surgery, injury prevention and health promotion.
Tim works with both athletes and non-athletes, designing programs to achieve their optimal performance and function. His practice encompasses all areas of physical therapy, with a focus on the extremities.
Tim is a licensed Physical Therapist in California. He completed his Bachelors degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Pennsylvania State University. He earned his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. Tim can be seen regularly at Gold’s Gym in Redondo Beach and is an active participant in the south bay community. Tim’s free time is spent with the two great loves of his life, his wife Noelle and their beautiful daughter Mia Kate.
